Its Our First Birthday – Thanks for the Oxygen

Digicular first anniversary

It’s June 2014, I was thinking of shutting down my previous blog and start everything new from scratch. This is for few reasons that I am not happy with the domain name and the other being to clean everything and start from scratch.

And then I started Researching and Brainstorming to get a Unique and brandable name for the new blog. I literally brainstormed 100’s of names. I finally filtered these 100’s of names and chose the name Digicular for the reason it is Short, Unique, and Brandable. I then registered the domain Digicular.com on 14 July 2014.

But unfortunately, there were some Difficult times, I decided to QUIT BLOGGING. Due to low traffic and some personal reason I decided to stay out of blogging. But during that time I started to Read  and learn more and more.

And finally I decided to Resume my blogging career. This time with more confidence and a clear goal. Created blog, setup custom domain, tweaked theme.

On a magical day (20 November 2014), A welcome post was published on Digicular.com And here today on 20 Nov 2015, we are celebrating our first Blog Anniversary.

What I learned so far ….

What you LEARNED is more important than what you EARNED

What you LEARNED is more important than what you EARNED – @Susheel_karam Tweet this

This is probably my first quote and probably my favorite one. I am proud to agree that I haven’t Earned much (Nor any money and Huge fanbase) as of now, But have learned many things that are worth more than million dollars, which enable me to help more and more people. And there are some important things I learned:

  1. Consistency is the key. The most important lesson, I have learned from a year of blogging here is ‘Consistency’is the important thing of blogging’. It’s important to post regularly even if it is once in a month. This is my biggest blogging mistake and I am striving to serve you the information regularly
  2. Quality is far more important than Quantity. Even though I am not consistent  in publishing information here, I can assure you that each article published here on Digicular is composed of high quality and detailed information. This is the thing I am extremely happy and proud of.

  4. Hi Susheel,

Many congratulations for your first anniversary 🙂

One can well understand all that you've gone through, and let me add here, your are not the only one to go through the tough times. But as they say, tough times don't last, tough people do, so cheer up and gear up because your journey has just started!

The lessons learnt are apt, as consistency is the key, and also, the more you write, the better you become. With each post you gain new readers, especially if you share your posts wide and interact with other bloggers by visiting their blogs, besides the traffic that gradually comes in from the search engines.

Yes, there is no compromise on the quality of all that you share, there should never be, after all as bloggers, we are responsible to our readers.

Amidst all of this, its important to keep the confidence and faith, and just keep going. That is an apt quote, and yes, money isn't what we should be after, especially when we start blogging. That comes in later, isn't it?

Thanks for the kind mention of the ABC, and we are so glad to have you as a part. I am happy you found good friend's there as well, and stay tuned for more new things coming up soon. Happy weekend 🙂

    1. Hi Harleena ma'am,

Thanks for stopping by and taking time to Motivate me with your kind words.

Yeah! Every blogger comes across certain tough times and those situations teaches us many things that even an expert cannot teach us.
And the most important thing I learned is its absolutely vital to post content on regular basis and I should also work hard in creating strong relations with my fellow bloggers.

As you said money is not the thing anyone should run after. And nothing gives more happiness than An Increase in traffic, subscribers, comments and a thanks from a reader.

And it will be an honor to mention you and ABC community here. I am very thankful to ABC community.

Thanks a lot for wishing me and inspiring me with your kind words. Thanks and Happy weekend to you too

  5. Congratulations!
What a wonderful thing to celebrate, and I especially love how you say 'what you learned is more important than what you earned'.

Great philosophy, and I'm sure it will take you far. Good luck with all of your goals!

    1. Hey Jeffers,

I think this is your first visit here. So I heartily welcome you here. I am glad to have you here.

Yeah it is my first quote and is my favorite one too. Glad that you like this philosophy.

Thanks for congratulating me and wishing me luck.
      Thank you.

  6. Hi, just want to say, Congrats 🙂

    1. Hey, thanks a lot Imran

  7. Susheel, Congratulations on your first blog anniversary. Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing my family and friends reaching new milestones. 🙂

I know how difficult it can be for you to manage school and blogging together. I think you do a great job!

You may have not earned from blogging, but I'll have to disagree with you where you said you have no audience or fans for your blog. There are many who read, but they might not comment or share so you'll never get to know who secretly admires you. Believe in yourself and keep publishing your best work. 🙂

Totally agreed! Quality is important than anything else. I liked your quote and shared it with my Twitter audience.

Thanks for the shoutout! I'll continue to have your back and support you. You can always count on me if you need any help or want to discuss something. 🙂

Wishing you tremendous success today and always. Let's create HUGE waves together in 2016. 😀

    Rohan.
